No loss, no claim

A claim for hire charges can only be made against the responsible party in a non-fault accident where:

•  There has been a loss (the replacement car has to have been hired, not a 'free' courtesy car)
•  The claim is made by the person who suffered the loss
•  A replacement car must be needed, i.e. you are not able to 'make do' with a lower standard of vehicle and are not able to get a suitable 'free car' from the insurer or the repairer
