Alfa Romeo Mito Expert Reviews
The Mito range includes a wide range of trim levels and engines. However, the most powerful petrol and diesel engines aren’t available in the more basic trims, making these versions look very expensive.
Alfa’s 77bhp 1.4 petrol is the cheapest engine, but the stronger Multiair units are much better; they respond more keenly than conventional engines and are impressively fuel-efficient, too. If you’re a company car driver, the 0.9 Twinair model makes a lot of sense financially, because it falls in a lower Benefit in Kind (BiK) tax band than either of the dieses – the 1.3 and 1.6 JTDm. However, the diesels are more frugal, so make more sense as a private buy.
Avoid the most basic Progression model; Sprint trim makes the most sense as you get alloy wheels, air-con, Bluetooth, a USB socket and cruise control. Distinctive trim adds larger wheels, lumbar support for the driver’s seat, rear parking sensors and various aesthetic add-ons, but isn’t worth the extra cash.
